What is screening?
When booking for antenatal care, women are offered a questionnaire to assess their risk for mental illness.
This is voluntary, and facilitated by the nursing staff as part of the patient's clinical history-taking.
The graph below provides a summary of screening data over the Project's 8 years of operation.
The number of women booking (coming to attend the health facility for the first time in pregnancy) at Mowbray Maternity Hospital has increased significantly over time.

Screening coverage refers to the proportion of women booking at the maternity clinic who undergo mental health screening.
