From the foreword
The PMHP provides training to health workers and community-based workers involved in maternal care.
This manual is intended as a supplement to these training programmes and as a resource to anyone involved with mothers and mothers-to-be.
The intended outcome is two-fold.
Firstly, to improve the quality of service offered to women in emotional distress. Secondly, to meet the needs of maternal health workers, like yourself, who want to be better equipped in this task.
We hope you can use this manual in an active way, adding to it as best suits your own needs.
